OXO Mary Wood

Lawrence Gleadle drew the original poster and character, which was then used for a variety of creative endeavours; for instance, in OXO colouring book competitions from the 1930s.

There was a range of colouring books:

Paint the Past: Public Benefactors Past and Present

Paint the Past: OXO Will Take Care of the Future

Paint: The Popular OXO Personalities

The poster also later inspired an OXO advert from the 1950s, which featured a little girl named Mary Wood who loved OXO so much that she always asked for more.
