An original example of monochrome lithography in the printing press

Monochrome lithography is a printmaking process that creates images using a single colour in various shades and tones. After the image is drawn on the limestone using greased crayons, the stone is placed on a flatbed lithographic press with the image facing up, and a damp sheet of paper is laid on top. A pressure bar is then lowered onto the stone and dragged across the surface, applying even pressure to transfer the inked image onto the paper, resulting in a print that is a reverse of the original drawing on the stone.
